"Cosmos-SG" - A Program of the Belarusian-Russian Union State
The joint Russian-Belarusian Program “COSMOS-SG” - «The development and implementation of perspective Space facilities and technologies in the best interests of Union State scientific-technology prosperity» (COSMOS SG) is approved by Russia-Belarus Union State Council of Ministers decree (#31, 29.04.2003).
Program period is 2004-2007.
More than 60 institutions take part in the realization of the Program.
From Russian Side: organizations, enterprises and scientific centers of Russian Airspace Agency, Ministry of Education, Russian Academy of Sciences and others.
From Belarusian side: institutions and organizations of the National Academy of Sciences, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Education and other enterprises.
Joint Russian-Belarusian Program is aimed for the development and practical use of the results obtained in previous Program “COSMOS-BR” and also for the development of new perspective directions in space technologies.
The creation of unified system elements for Space information supply of the customers from Russia and Belarus is the most important Program’s goal. It should let the customers facilitate the control of social-administrative, economic and other processes on the basis of remote sensing of the Earth.
The supercomputers technology is used to provide in the frame of some projects of the Program the Space information reception, processing and distribution.
