ABOUT SUPERCOMPUTER CENTER
According to the decision of the Presidium of NASB the State Supercomputer Multi-Access Center was organized in the United Institute of Informatics Problems, NASB.
State Supercomputer Multi-Access Center includes the computational capabilities of cluster “SKIF” supercomputers: «Myrin» VM-5100, K-500 and K-1000.
The Center has commercial version of LS-DYNA for high speed non-linear dynamic processes modeling, commercial version of STAR-CD for hydro and gas- dynamic processes modeling, academic license of Fluent 6.2 for hydro and gas- dynamic processes modeling and the licensed packages Pro/E, SolidEdge, Inventor 9 for creation of computer 3D models of the objects and systems.
IMPLEMENTATION OF SUPERCOMPUTER TECHNOLOGIES
The supercomputers family SKIF – the result of Russian-Belarusian joint program (2000- 2004).
Official Web-site of "SKIF" Program - www.skif.bas-net.by
Supercomputers SKIF are the key elements in several Russian-Belarusian Union State programs such as “SKIF”, “COSMOS-SG”, “TRIADA”, “SKIF-GRID”.
In the frame of SKIF program the high speed access to the resources connected to telecommunication network of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus BAS-NET from scientific networks of Russia is organized through pan European scientific network GEANT.
The supercomputer resources could be provided for $ 0,05 - $ 0,5 processor/hour, depending the monthly volume of the computation and the period of the renting during an year.

Some projects on the supercomputers SKIF were implemented in a number of enterprises:
As the agreement with Borisov Aggregate Works the throughout computer technology of designing, testing and technological preparation of turbocompressor for Minsk Motors Works was realized in the frame of the State Program of import substitution.
The calculation and modeling the frames of perspective tractors “Belarus” were accomplished which are practically impossible to be done on traditional computers.
The experiments to calculate bearing structures of mine truck (rock handler) BELAZ and mine cages were made.
In the interest of Minsk Tractor Works together with Scientific Institute “BELAUTOTRACTOR” of NASB the project of supercomputer modeling of vehicle collision with fixed bar was made.
The evaluation of the safety of the driver and passengers in the car in case of car collusion was accomplished by means of virtual modeling of the processes using the licensed software LS-DYNA.
